Description

SN: W988B715

This was used as a Demo machine and never put into production

The Mimaki UJF-6042 MkII is a compact, tabletop UV-LED flatbed inkjet printer designed for high-quality, direct-to-object printing on a wide range of substrates in small- to medium-volume production environments like sign shops, promotional products, awards, personalization, and specialty printing.

Key features include:

  • Print Area: Maximum 23.6" x 16.5" (610 x 420 mm / A2 size equivalent); supports media up to ~24" wide
  • Maximum Media Thickness: Up to 6.02" (153 mm) for printing on thick or irregular objects (e.g., phone cases, plaques, bottles with optional rotary jig, wood, acrylic, metal, glass, etc.)
  • Maximum Media Weight: Up to 17.1 lbs (8 kg)
  • Print Resolution: Up to 1200 x 1200 dpi for sharp, detailed output with smooth gradients
  • Printhead: Four on-demand piezo heads in a staggered array (allows simultaneous printing of color + white/clear/spot for efficiency)
  • Ink System: Supports Mimaki UV-LED inks like LH-100 (rigid, high scratch resistance), LUS-120 (flexible), LUS-150 (stretchable), and PR-200 primer; includes white ink circulation (MCT - Mimaki Circulation Technology) to prevent settling; available in CMYK + Lc/Lm/W/Cl/Clear configurations
  • Curing: Eco-friendly, low-VOC UV-LED lamps (instant dry, GREENGUARD Gold certified in many setups)
  • Speed & Productivity: Up to ~20% faster than predecessor models (e.g., ~3.5 m²/h in standard modes or up to 468 objects/hour depending on settings); variable dot technology and Mimaki Advanced Pass System (MAPS) for reduced banding
  • Additional Specs: Enclosed print area to minimize dust/UV exposure; Nozzle Check Unit (NCU) and Nozzle Recovery System (NRS) for automatic clog detection/recovery; vacuum table (pin-register/jig compatible); high-precision ball screw table movement; Ethernet/USB connectivity; RasterLink RIP software included; compact footprint (~65" W x 51" D x 34" H); single-phase 100–240V power; robust build for reliable on-demand use

This versatile UV flatbed excels at producing vibrant, durable prints with raised effects, braille/ADA compliance, clear layers (via Mimaki Clear Control), and 2.5D textures—ideal for custom gifts, signage, prototypes, industrial parts, and promotional items on rigid/flexible substrates without needing separate pre/post-processing. As a demo machine never put into full production, it's essentially low-usage with potential advantages like minimal wear on mechanical parts—but the prolonged inactivity likely means dried/clogged printheads (common issue with UV inks, especially white/clear/primer channels that settle or cure in nozzles over time). Recovery often involves deep cleaning cycles, flushing solvents, custody soaks, or (in worst cases) head replacement (~$1,500–$3,000+ per head via Mimaki service), but many users report success with proper maintenance protocols.

Originally a premium tabletop UV printer (often $30,000–$50,000+ new, with demo units discounted), it's a sought-after workhorse for shops wanting high-value, small-format direct printing with excellent color accuracy and versatility.

Perfect for custom printers or personalization businesses seeking a low-mileage UV flatbed! Unit is used (demo/low-use, stored inactive); please inspect or request additional photos/videos/test prints as needed. Local pickup in the St. Charles, MO area (or arrangements for shipping at buyer's expense).

Great opportunity to snag a near-new condition UV direct-to-object printer at auction value—especially if heads can be revived or replaced affordably!

Auction Information

Printer Strategies is selling high-quality assets from multiple printing companies in a single auction. All items are sold as-is with no warranties or guarantees unless specifically stated in writing. While we test equipment whenever possible, we cannot test every item. If we are aware of any issues with an item, we will disclose them in the description. Items without video are sold strictly as-is.

We strongly encourage all bidders to inspect items in person or arrange for a representative to evaluate them prior to bidding. Only the items shown in the photos or video will be included with the lot, unless otherwise noted in the description. If you have any questions about what is included, please ask before bidding.

Location & Inspection

The majority of equipment is located in our warehouse in St. Charles, Missouri (a suburb of St. Louis). We are conveniently located approximately 15 minutes from the airport and near major highways. Bidders are welcome to inspect items in person prior to the auction. For items located outside our St. Charles warehouse, please contact us to arrange an inspection.

Descriptions & Photographs

Item descriptions are based primarily on manufacturer information. In the event of any discrepancy between the written description and the actual item, the photographs and video will take precedence. You are bidding on the item as shown in the photos and video, not the written description. Please review all images carefully before placing a bid.

Terms of Sale

All items are sold as-is, where-is, with no warranties or guarantees unless expressly provided in writing by Printer Strategies. It is the buyer’s responsibility to read and understand all terms and conditions, including those listed in each lot description. Some items may be refurbished and include limited guarantees — these will be clearly stated in the individual listing.

Printer Strategies reserves the right to bid on any lot up to the reserve price. All such bidding will be conducted transparently.

Binding Contract

When you place the highest bid on a lot and the auction closes, you enter into a binding contract to purchase the lot at the hammer price plus the buyer’s premium.

Buyer’s Premium

A 10% buyer’s premium will be added to the hammer price of every winning bid.

Full payment must be received within three (3) business days from the close of the auction. Accepted payment methods include:

  • Wire Transfer

Please do not bid if you cannot secure payment within the deadline. Non-payment will result in your account being flagged.

New Customers

The easiest way to pay is to email us a clear image of your company check. We will process it as an eCheck at no additional cost to you.

International Bidders

We appreciate your business and are happy to work with international buyers. Equipment can be held for up to 30 days to arrange shipping; however, full payment must still be received within 3 business days of the auction closing. Please do not bid if you cannot meet these payment terms.
